Lead, Copper and Zinc Levels in Non-Caries Permanent Teeth of Some Korean Adults

Abstract
Lead(Pb), Copper(Cu) and Zinc(Zn) levels of 42 caries-free permanent teeth extracted from residents of Southwestern Korea were measured by using atomic absorption spectrophotometry method. Mean and standard deviation (S. D.) values of each elements were determined as 23.7¡¾9.3¥ìg/g for Pb, 5.3¡¾2.2¥ìg/g for Cu and 179.5¡¾58.5¥ìg/g for Zn, respectively, while the distributions were not differ from normal distribution curve. There were not any significant findings related with epidemiological characteristics, although the slight correlation was observed between age and Pb level. Significant correlation was observed only between Cu-and-Zn levels, not between Pb-and Cu levels and Pb-and-Zn levels.
